Looking for Turkish red pepper paste in the city. In my experience, I've only ever found it at Sahar in Albany Park. Is there anywhere closer to Wicker Park where people have been able to find it?

    Thanks.

Middle East Bakery on Foster has a decent selection of Turkish stuff. I'd give them a call.

I know a few Turkish places, but not in the city. There's Sultan's Kabab on Cumberland (4950 N) that has a bakery and store connected to it, and there's Istanbul Bazaar in Mt. Prospect (2324 S Elmhurst Rd).

While off topic, My Bride just loves the Ajvar (Serbian Roasted Red Pepper Sauce) that I picked up at...

    Balkan Bakery
541 S La Grange Rd, La Grange
    (708) 588-1899

It's a great little shop if you are in the area.
