I am brainstorming ideas for a 35-person private dining event. I would like to do something unique. I know there are limitless possibilities, but I hope some of you can inspire ideas.

My budget would be in the range of $100 - $122/pp and should include alcohol.

Hi there...you are definitely right that Chicago offers a lot of options in that department. The private dining rooms at Spiaggia are really nice (great view, can customize the menu and options for your budget etc.) and the Little Goat is on the opposite side of the spectrum and much homier but also very cool.

I did a dinner for the out-of-towners for my wedding at Fork which was very nice but 35 might be a bit of stretch with their space. Menu wise it was nice as you had free range of everything.

Where? (city, downtown, burbs, anywhere in the entire metro area?) What type of occasion? (there are places I'd recommend for a 30th bday party that might different from what I'd recommend for a Grandma's 75th bday...)

We're doing a rehearsal dinner at River Roast. What's special about it is the location, right on the river. Our room as windows overlooking the river and they will even put some tables out on the public pathway so people can go outdoors and look at the river and skyline at night.

Been to a few small gatherings at Frontera private space. Always top notch if that's your thinking on food choice.

I just had my wedding at Revolution Brewing. They included a brewery tour for an additional $75. Food was excellent and obviously the drinks were great (including the wine/spirit offerings). It ran about $110 per person with food/drink. The upstairs were they have private events is all wood and exposed brick walls with its own bar. Very beautiful and unique experience!
