    HI,

I remember long ago, when it was rumored there was a second location for Jim's. I took my Mom there just to see if it was really there. I have stopped there only a few times and usually related to being stuck in heavy traffic.

    Regards,

Anyone know if Jim's still offers discounts in the month of February? I've got a hankering for some Polishes and I might as well time my visit for sale time if it's going on.

there's an orange banner that looks quite similar to orange banners from previous years that promoted the Black History Month specials.

I believe there is no 2nd location for Jim's. But there appears to be a 2nd location for Express Grill at 1730 S. Halsted.

There was a second location of Jim's on 95th St. just east of the Dan Ryan Expressway. It closed within the last two years.

The last couple times Ive been there in February, there *was* a special offered - at both Jim's and MSG. They were, however, offered only between (IIRC) 3pm and 5pm back then...all sandwiches with fries were 2 bucks (or something like that) IIRC..

    Hi,

I was heading out of town during February a few years ago. It was 2:45 pm with many people camped in their cars waiting for 3:00 pm. I wasn't willing to wait, so I went to the window asking if I could get the 3:00 pm deal. Once I broke the waters, everyone else came cascading from their cars.

The Jim's Original at 16 E 95th was open from 1990 to 2014, when it was bought by the CTA for Red Line station expansion. When I first visited in 2001, it was known as JJ's Top Dog, and I was skeptical it was truly related to the real Jim's (the original Maxwell & Halsted stand, now on Union). These were the dark days after the forced closing of the original Jim's, before the new location opened. Within a few years, the 95th St location put up Jim's signage, removing my doubts about their authenticity. The photo below is from 2011. At the left of the picture, you can just make out the red-edged white canopy of the CTA terminal.

    Hi,

My first visit to the 95th location was after visiting Jim's, when they told me of the second location. I jumped on the expressway to the then JJ's Top Dog and asking them their relationship to Jim's. Yea, it was nice when they finally uniformly branded both places.

Funny to see this, as I stopped by Jim's today for a polish. Excellent as always, and of course the experience in itself is a treat.
