Does anyone know if the owners of the closed Pine Yard in Evanston ever opened in a new location?

    Mei Lin House
3207 Lake Ave. (Southwest corner of Skokie Blvd & Lake Ave.)
    Wilmette
    847-251-8881
    http://www.meilinhouse.net

According to their carry out menu, they are the former owners of Pine Yard. FYI - it's mostly a carry out spot.

Oooh - long drive for us, but I can still taste their Spicy Scallops with Broccoli, which is on the menu, and my alltime favorite dish.

Is there any dining on site at all? The online page mysteriously says "We do not service silverware at dinner time." But the "about us" lists "dining" along with take out and delivery. BYOS? (Bring your own silverware?)

There's one or two tables at most. They still serve the food in to-go containers.

Did you frequent the old Evanston location? (We actually go back to when it was on Church street and ate there the last night, they ran out of pancakes for the Mu Shu and I thought there was going to be a riot - the second Evanston location never had the same vibe, but the food was still great.)

I'm curious if the food is still the same as before.

We used to eat at Pine Yard. The food from Mei Lin is pretty close, I'd say. We have only gotten it as take-out, and it's a bit of a drive for us, but they do pack things quite well.
