I'll be hosting the July dessert exchange at my home at the border of Evanston and Skokie. It will be Sunday, 7/16, at 4:00. I'll add more thorough info later, but I wanted to post a save the date now. We have room for about 12 people. Hope to see everyone!

Cathy, sorry you won't be able to make it. Thanks for offering to come look at our yard. I'm going to try to call a couple more referrals, but I might take you up on it if they don't work out. I think there's not much we will do for the summer, but I definitely still need help knowing what to do with the plants at the end of the growing season.

I'm planning to try toasting sugar in the oven to make angel food cake (a la this post http://www.seriouseats.com/2017/05/how- ... -cake.html). I am also making Jeni's Backyard Mint Ice Cream from mint in our yard. I'll send an email soon with info for Sunday.
