Wrigleyville Dogs has been serving Cubs fans since 1992. Wrigleyville Dogs, Vienna Beef and Hot Dog University will be on The Amazing Race finale tonight at 9:00pm on CBS as one of the challenges. Teams are taught to properly dress a Chicago style dog and must prepare 10 dogs to move on to the next challenge.

On the broadcast the contestants did not prepare any dogs, they just had to deliver ten of them to fans on a rooftop. Only one of the three pairs had the smarts to toss the dogs instead of taking the time to hand them out. Nor was any mention made of Vienna or Hot Dog University.

99% of the Vienna Beef/Hot Dog University taping was cut from the show. Each contestant was taught how to properly dress ten hot dogs in order of the condiments being applied, by myself, before I would pass them. There were a some redo's, but none of it made it on the show.

So now you know what it's like to end up on the cutting room floor.
Without the dog building it was an extremely weak challenge. Did the contestants have any problems with properly executing the dogs?

If there's any way for network wonks to get what they want without giving you what they've offered in exchange for it, they'll find it. It's the coin of their realm.

I would have much preferred if the contestants weren't told what goes on a proper dog and they had to just know it or ask pedestrians. It would have made the challenge more of a puzzle than just doing it and running across the street.

The whole idea of the challenge was to have the contestants properly dress a Chicago style hot dog with the condiments placed on the hot dog in the correct order. My assignment was to train them by having the teams watch me complete the process one time. One team took notes, one team did all ten perfectly, and one team made mistakes until it was done correctly.
