    Hi there!
I want to take my friend out to a nice place. Nothing fancy but no fast food. There must be a wine list (but neither of us are connoisseurs). Must be an okay place to take a young child. Open noon onward, so no breakfast/brunch places.

Location: she's technically in Lake in the Hills but on the border of Algonquin, Huntley, and Lakewood (Crystal Lake).

    Idears? Thanks!

We have family in LITH and we're always schlepping out there for one reason or another and we usually end up at one of the following places...
    Cucina Bella, Main St. Algonquin.
    Biaggi's, Randall Rd. Algonquin.
    Jameson's, Rt 14. Crystal Lake.
    Montarra, Randall Rd. Algonquin.

None of these places will ever receive a Michelin star, but they are reliably decent and they should meet your needs... I believe Montarra and Cucina Bella open later than the other 2 - somewhere around 4:00.

I haven't been there in years, but Port Edward is still open in Algonquin.
