Royal Grocer & Co.

Royal Grocer is now open where Red Door was on Damen, north of Armitage. They have kept the patio, which is lovely. Their web site has the menu, and they are taking reservations, per their Facebook page.

Service was good, food was good. We got hushpuppies and two mains. It was good, but it felt a little expensive for what we got. ($18 for clams and grits, with about 6 small clams - and they were very sandy).

We'll be back for the patio, not sure if they'll keep us through the winter. And in order to succeed in that spot they have to have business over the winter.
