This year, in lieu of a gift, we're going to treat the staff to a buffet of snacks/apps/etc. Good quality, but not quite lunch. We're limited by our abysmal state budget, so it will have to be modestly priced. Suggestions for a caterer/restaurant in the area? There will need to be vegetarian items on the menu. We're expecting about 40 people.

    Thanks!

What's wrong with Chinese food delivered? Vegetable egg rolls and fried rice, shrimp toast, etc.

I'm always pro Chinese. That's on the list for sure.

Kurah's in the South Loop? I've never had it catered but the food is good when I had it delivered. http://www.kurahchicago.com/our-menu/

Nepal House on 13th and Michigan also caters.

Oo, that looks fantastic. So many apps. Putting it on the list.

They haven't posted on LTH in ages, but FigMolly & FigJustin from Fig Catering are a talented (and very nice) duo.

I'm not sure you're budget exactly, but we have had good luck with Gio's Cafe in Bridgeport. Might be too much food, but I'm sure something could be worked out. Freddie's and Punky's all kind of have the same food, but Gio's is a step more refined. At 28th and Lowe.

Also good was Zaytune Mediterranean Grill. Also in Bridgeport it's at 31st Pl and Morgan.

I've never eaten here so I'm hesitant to recommend it, but I've heard decent things about Yassa (African Food). At 35th and King Drive

Not sure about the vegetarians, but some tips & links from Honey 1 would hit the spot for me.
