Celebrated Father's Day with a dinner on Sat night at Valor in Glencoe.
Our family are sharers so we had a number of dishes:
Starters:
Roasted Meatballs - good dish, what one would expect with meatballs
Warm Brussels Sprouts Ceasar - Brussels Sprouts weren't really roasted that well, would have been delicious if more caramelized
Popcorn Cauliflower - pieces of cauliflower in rice flower tempura, this was good
Green Curry Mussels - in coconut milk with ginger, chives. This was terrific
Tuna Tartare - w/guacamole, tempura bits, sambal. Another delicious dish
Mains:
Faroe Island Salmon w/truffled risotto and pea shoots. Good, solid.
Special pasta of the day was fettuccine w/creamed parmesan, hen of woods & shiitake mushrooms and sliced truffles. Delicious.
Veggie side of Spicy Szechwan green beans with garlic & peanuts were terrific!
Service was good. There was a fly problem, far too many buzzing around.
