Check Please San Francisco -- Season 1, Episode 3, link to the episode at Google Video.

The best part is the description of Polish food as rare and exotic. I keep forgetting what a wealth of Polish restaurants we have here..

Yeah, Check Please is a home-grown phenomenon. San Francisco is, as far as I know, the only other outpost.

Thanks, ekreider. I'd been looking for that thread (but not particularly hard). If a mod could merge this one into that one, I'd be most appreciative.

I was amused to note just how different food culture is in San Francisco. Of course, I'm comparing the comments more to LTHForum than to Check Please, as I haven't seen Check Please in years. But it was more than just the "rare and exotic Polish food." It was also the discussion of the BBQ ribs (he bakes them and then grills them -- oh, I always boil my ribs), and even the discussion of Italian food varied from what I'd expect to hear in Chicago. It was the kind of discussion where, if I didn't know it was SF, I'd be thinking these folks didn't get out much.
