There is this most interesting bistro, or actually international snack cafe in the Dunning neighborhood. It is Bistro 6050 located at 6050 Irving Park Road.
The owners have lived around the world and have settled in the area and opened this bistro. They feature empanadas with an ethnic twist.. as in having empanadas with various regional cuisine twists.. like spinach and feta for mediterranean. Sweet Corn Masala for an Indian Twist. They even have jackfruit for vegetarians. The other featured dish is the crepe. They have great crepes... flavors offered are chocolate and coconut, speculoos and walnut caramel.
In addition, they serve home made ice cream . The ice cream flavors are one of a kind and different.. such as Halva and Pistachio. They also have Ube flavor which is a blue yam which is popular in the philipines. They also sell bubble teas as well as tisanes, which are herbal teas. They also created Charcoal nuts which are nuts with spices. Very tasty. Highly recommend paying a visit.
If you are in the area, this is a most unique place to visit. A real popular place in the neighborhood.
