10Q Chicken has opened on Church St just east of Benson (across the street from Falcon Eddy's) in downtown Evanston.

It's from the "people behind" bopNgrill. I plan to give their wings (Korean spicy for me) a try shortly.

The owners of Old Warsaw, the venerable Polish smorgasbord that closed earlier this summer in Harwood Heights, have downsized to open Polish Paczki Cafe, a spot that features traditional Polish sweets, as well as items like pork chops. Wow! Didn't see that one coming. Too bad. Gail's was a great spot for breakfast...especially if dining with a family.

My thoughts, too. Had been going for breakfast there (between 7 Bros/Gail's) for over 20 years. They'll be missed. Let's hope there's a new incarnation there soon!

Cafe Orient 33 is no longer in the space at 4829 N. Kedzie. Kim's Home Cooking is now there. I looked at the menu and it seemed to be a pretty standard Korean menu. Didn't sample anything because I had a different destination in that strip mall.

Just stopped in. Decent selection of prepared foods at or below Pret a Manger prices. They have Farmer's Fridge salad-in-a-jar in addition to several other salad offerings. They also had a few different meal kits (Blue Apron-like) priced at $15.99 (for two servings, I think).

Another long-anticipated place in a long-vacant space comes to Lincoln Square: The Priory Bar & Kitchen on Western at Winona is slated to open this coming Saturday, after two years of "coming soon" signs. From the website: "The Priory Bar & Kitchen incorporates a classic English fare and rustic scenic appeal accented with modern flair, atmosphere and presentation."

I'm looking forward to it, if only because I always want another good restaurant situated only a block away from me, particularly if they have good takeout.

I am unsure if this counts as a closure; but the liquor store section of Crown Liquors (2821 N. Milwaukee Av., 60618) has closed and been emptied out.
It could be the owners intend to change the space into a restaurant.
The bar is unaffected.

The owners of Brgrbelly have pulled the plug on their creative Italian beef spinoff Beefbelly. It opened in late 2015 with eight gourmet beefs before briefly reconcepting two years later into a Mexican-themed spot named Tipsy Cow Cantina and going back to burgers three months ago.
