Ban Po Jung - Korean on Foster

Ban Po Jung, hiding in plain sight on Foster Ave, only one mention on LTH six years ago.

Gratis personal size Pa-Jeon, crispy & slightly greasy, in a good way, nice selection of banchan including a small salted fish, tasty bubbling hot SoonDooBu and friendly, if somewhat loud, owner. Tasty homestyle Korean evocative of one of my favorites, GNR Da Rae Jung.

Stumbled into this place many years ago and it's now my go-to Korean place in the city, despite being quite a hike from the south side. To me, Da Rae Jung wins in their stews, but Ban Po Jung has better other things, including banchans. This reminds me I haven't gone for a while!
