Twin Dragon, Niles. Korean/Chinese American/Chinese

Old school American Chinese with a subset of Korean Chinese. Twin Dragon in Niles has been around 30-years yet it only came to my attention* when the lovely Dennis Lee mentioned it his article about jjajangmyeon in Dill Magazine Issue Four.

I've been on a bit of a jjajangmyeon kick lately so like moth to flame I fired up the AMC Pacer and headed out to Niles. Good to very good jjajangmyeon made with fantastic chewy house-made noodles. Wings were solid, style as if Great Sea and Bonchon had a love child. My dining companion enjoyed his spicy garlic and pork stir fry lunch special for an ultra reasonable $6.99.

Full Chinese American menu plus all the Korean Chinese highlights, jjajangmyeon, jjampong, tangsuyuk etc in an spotlessly clean, friendly large comfortable space. Next outing I plan on trying jjampong and steamed mandoo with house-made wrappers.

Twin Dragon was our go-to for Chinese when we lived just south of there (25 years ago), but when they changed to Korean ownership our Chinese favorites went downhill, sauces all becoming sweet and gloppy. I should give them another chance to play to their strengths.
