I think this belongs on this board...

Looking for 3 fitty dollar gift certs for a college grad that lives in Hyde Park. He and his wife are very adventurous, very chill. I just don't know the area that well. Initial thoughts:

    Medici
    Rajun Cajun
    And / OR ???

Open to anything, really anything. I'm assuming there should be some cool spots down there. Again, they are very adventurous, very chill. Anything goes.

I’ll add Cedars Mediterranean on 53rd to your list.

Budlong just opened in HP—I’d think that would be a hot ticket for the post-college crowd, but a GC would be welcomed since it’s not cheap.

Both excellent calls. Cedar's was on the radar, but Budlong... Nuff said.

Another option would be to give them gift cards that are accepted anywhere (like these), and let them pick the restaurants.

Also Promontory and Virtue, both for drinks as much as feasts, or even Mesler at the new Sophy, or why not Nella - she's still on her game.

Everyone is raving about the Mesler, but I'm not sure that fits with what you're looking for as it is more high-end dining. Nella is a good choice, most like it, I'm not a huge fan mostly due to very spotty service.
