Last night My Bride and I took in an afternoon movie at Navy Pier IMAX and as is our tradition we take public transportation with little more than a mile walk back to the EL.

My Bride needs a few rest stops along the way so I planned our trip along the newly finished east section of the park.

From Navy Pier we made a bee line to...

... not sure what their patio would entail and was pleasantly surprised to see it was right on the Riverwalk with a somewhat obstructed view of the buildings by the low hanging trees. Don’t get me wrong as the trees will provide a great shade once the summer heats up.

We enjoyed a pair of cocktails (nicely mixed and not stratosphericly priced) and some pretzels just resting and enjoying the people strolling and boats motoring by.

We were on the north side of the river, the south side in this area up to Michigan Avenue seemed to be dominated by tour boats and the attendant loading queues. There appeared to be a docked party boat, maybe permanently moored...

... and looking at the Google listing, maybe a landlocked restaurant too?

Continuing our stroll, with a few pauses along the way, we took advantage of the elevator at the...

... to get back up to street level to cross to the other side. My Bride had never been and was impressed by its style. :)

Crossing the river at Michigan to the south side because I had seen that there were several restaurants including one that had pierogis from a long defunct place in Bridgeport.

Descending back down we were dismayed to see they were barricaded for construction (weren’t they just built 5 years ago?) and hoped they weren’t all closed.

Whew! Once we made it past Wabash, things were not under construction and we made another stop at...

... which is shown on Google maps being west of State but is actually just west of Wabash.

A very nice patio! Hostess at the west end and had a lot of tables with a more casual seating along the wall, a pair of chairs with a wooden disk on the wall for a table.

Had a pair of beers, nibbled on the remaining Garrett’s popcorn, and relaxed for a while. The views were great and the boat and people watching, awesome!

I did get several pictures but as with many panoramic shots I feel reluctant to crop.

It is a another gem in the crown of our city and a nice place to wind down after activities Downtown.
