Francesca's on Taylor

Terrific meal Francesca's on Taylor, 25-years and still delivering, quite an accomplishment. Service tip-top, friendly car valet, hostess who both greeted as we entered and thanked us for coming as we left, great bartender, on-point busboys switching out silver, plates etc. and cherry on top of my coke, our server Sam Ferraro, professional, interactive, friendly without seeming smarmy and the Joe Pesci lookalike who came to check on our table brought a smile to one and all.

No paint by the numbers on the food front, 25-years is a long time, and there are some items from the original menu on Clark, but Taylor Street Francesca's delivered crisp, clean flavors, attractive, delicious on the plate, no pretense, no bullshit, good value, especially for the neighborhood.

Every restaurateur who is in a bit of a down-turn should send his chef & GM for a meal at Francesca's on Taylor to see how to keep things relevant after two decades plus. Comfortable table spacing, seating, clean bathrooms, more important as I get older, an overall great experience in a sea of Man-Bun menus and style over substance decor.

Perfect place for north side Chicagoans to meet Chesterton Indiana relatives for a meal, kudos to Francesca's on Taylor, we will be back soon.
