Former Jilly's Bistro and Creperie St. Germaine space is now Mid Kitchen — primarily a breakfast & lunch menu.

I'll be interested to see how dinner service works with a closing time of 4 pm.

Two openings in sleepy little Riverside....

Nada - a Middle Eastern spot - just opened at 3216 S Harlem ave. Early reviews seem favorable, I'll be hitting it up on Tuesday.

El Famous Burrito will be taking over the old Riverside Restaurant spot at 3422 S Harlem. I know that is a huge disappointment for many that had hoped for someone to revive the old spot.

El Santo Taqueria, 3352 W. Foster Ave, is closed. Phone is turned off, online ordering is kaput, and a drive-by confirms the place has been cleared out. Sadness! El Santo was really good, a cut above a standard taqueria. Just a month ago they were promoting on Facebook all the menu ideas they got from a recent trip to Mexico. They will be missed in our household.

One of my all-time favorite restaurant names. For years my friends and I would replace the word possibilities with Pastabilities; especially when talking about food combinations.

Lloyd's has closed permanently as of June 14 per announcement on their web site.

Waiter for our dinner before West Side Story said that dinner service would stop after the musicals run but lunch would be served for another week. He was vague as to whether a different concept was going in by the same operator, which also runs Catch 35, whether the space would be vacant or whether a new operator would be in the space after remodeling.

I think that the food quality had improved in recent years, and it was certainly convenient for pre-opera dining with evening parking in the one South garage available for $8.50 for diners.

Formerly at 1 South Wacker Drive.

They were phoning it in for a long time. Its neighbor at One North is a much better option.

In the prior location for Domino's on the corner of Prairie Ave and Green Bay Road.

Cafe Petopia has closed. A Mexican restaurant is now there. In the same strip mall (and maybe the same location?), there is a Mexican restaurant whose name has Posole in it.

I was driving and did not get an opportunity to properly figure out the restaurant game of chairs at this location.

That's a curious choice, for a relatively out-of-the-way part of Des Plaines, although it'll get traffic and visibility from commuters. With prime spots such as the former Leona's o Miner in downtown Des Plaines vacant, price must be a factor.
The block that Via Roma was on previously is being torn down for 7 stories of condos. There's expected to be first-floor retail so I would expect new restaurants.

Boston Market is closing 10% of their restaurants. I couldn't find a complete list of which ones closed, but it looks like the one in Aurora on 59 closed since it's no longer listed on its website. If you go there frequently, I would call there first to see if they're still open.
