Red Apple on the edge of Chicago is still open. I like the place once every two years or so, headcheese, beet salad, perogies, overly rich desserts, lots of heavy meat and starch. I'm a meat guy but skew toward salads at Red Apple.
I was the original poster in this thread, including pictures, I'd guess the offerings have not changed much though I have not been in a year.
