Lux Bar has always been somewhere I have wanted to try, but for some reason it always slips my mind when I'm in the area. Well I finally went and I have to say, this was THE best Turkey Burger I have ever had. They claim its an award winning ’secret’ recipe, and I don’t doubt it. Theres something secret in there alright.

Even if the burger wasn't that good I really would go back just for the white truffle fries… yeah, they were THAT good….

Only complaint is the overabundance of middle aged men who watched my friend and I like hawks, as if we were trying to move in on their prey. Although I dont blame them, the girls there are almost as good as the burger.

The only secret ingredient I want in my turkey burger is beef. Maybe I'll check that place out as I have yet to eat a good turkey burger, I have has tasty ostrich burgers. They have to be distant cousins.

While not located in the city, my wife and I like the turkey burger at Ravinia BBQ and Grill in Highland Park. They serve a 10 oz burger cooked properly and served on black bread. I also like the Natural Salad which is nothing more then a green salad mixed with cole slaw. For some reason it works well.

    iBlock,

Is Ravinia Grill still doing the insanely large veal and beef rib-eye chops? Its been years, but Fred Flintstone size chops tend to make an impression.

    Enjoy,

Yes sir, 25 and 30 oz steaks are still on the menu for between $35 and $40. Veal chops are sometimes available but are more of a special. They also do a nice rack of lamb and rack of veal.

I should probably start a thread on Ravinia BBQ because almost everything is very good, some things are great and the location, half a mile from my house, cant be beat. Also, for those of you that are so inclined, the Highland Park cast of "Desperate Housewives" assembles for the Karaoke blow out every Thursday night.

I eat a turkey burger maybe once every five years, but I had an awesome one, randomly, at Rockit in River North about a year ago. Perfectly seasoned, cooked, juicy. They also have respectable truffle fries.

Worst turkey burger I've ever had: at Merle's in Evanston. (No, I don't know why I chose to eat a turkey burger at a "BBQ" place. Maybe because it's "BBQ.")

I've got to put in a plug for the turkey burger at May St. Market. It's moist, finely ground and rich (so rich I wonder if there's any offal in there). A very sizeable portion with very good fries and aioli is a very reasonable $10.00.

My favorite turkey burger in the city is at Thats-a -Burger. Get the double and its a meal for two. One of the only restaurants that I find myself craving from my days of living on the southside.

I'm bringing this post back to life as I try to eat a little less red meat, and find a respectable turkey burger. Has anybody had a great turkey burger in three years since this thread began? I've found only one in the city: DMK's #10. Turkey, Arugula, Dijoinnaise, smoked swiss. With a side of sweet potato fries and lemon aioli... I'm a happy woman. Problem is, DMK during cubs games is the pits -- terrible parking and full of drunk folks! And so we have Sunday evening, after a cubs game. The Mister wants a burger, and I want a turkey burger. Any other suggestions??

Although the beef burger isn't getting much love in the Epic Burger thread, I think their turkey burger is very enjoyable. Nice Wisconsin cheese selection, really nice quality pickles, wheat bun available (or lettuce in lieu of bread), and then their Epic Sauce (kinda special saucy- like a thousand islandy) if you like that. Easy parking in the shopping plaza at the North Ave location I visit; other locations have opened up.

I did stop in here to try the burger (very good!) and while I was waiting they were selling the Turkey Burger 3 to 1. Must be good. :)

ooh, I LOVE a good turkey burger (and few things are as BAD as a bad turkey burger - so hooray for this thread!)

I agree with rachel2025's DMK recommendation - I had the green chili cheeseburger as a turkey burger and it was outstanding. The meat was spiced a bit like breakfast sausage - lots of black pepper, a touch of sage and ginger. very juicy and moist. not a very big burger, but that is not something that bothers me.

I also love the turkey burger at Hamburger Mary's in Andersonville. I usually get the Buffy as a turkey burger. Swiss cheese, garlic aioli and it's cooked with some kind of red wine reduction. HIGHLY recommended! This one is a larger burger, but they still manage to keep it juicy.

It's been a few years since I've eaten there, but SRO used to have a very good turkey burger. It's won several awards, IIRC.

Hands down! Howard Street Inn.....best we have had ANYWHERE. Totally unexpected, but really extremely juicy...never dry....and seasoned beautifully.

Owner says it is THE most popular item on the menu....and I can see why

The "Burgers-Burgers" and "Culver's" threads that have been very active this week got me thinking about good options for turkey burgers in the city. Some people prefer turkey to beef for environmental reasons, for health reasons, and even for taste. So which restaurants serve the best ones?

    I remember visiting...

    That's A Burger
8301 S Stony Island Ave, Chicago

... to get one of their lauded burgers and while I was waiting I couldn’t help but notice all the turkey burger orders. Maybe 2 to 1. I was thinking it was a southside thing.

Never tried it but it must be good?

Doing my google search for the address the turkey burger was mentioned in the listing.

I have only been there a few times. Food is cooked to order in the order it was taken. Everyone knows this whose been there more than once, so you order and plan to sit a while or come back a while later.

The turkey burger is indeed very good.

At Butcher & The Burger, my go-to order is the turkey burger with umami spice (garlic, ginger, scallions, sweet soy glaze) and wasabi mayo, often on a lettuce bun. To me, turkey burgers don't taste as good as beef burgers, but if I'm trying to be health-conscious, they're better than no burger. I feel the same way about cauliflower crust pizza
