    Anybody been? How was it?

Middle to bad Yelp reviews plus Anthony Todd of Eater said he had his worst meal of the year so far there in March 2019.
We're going to Queen in a week and taking along some great friends so while dinner doesn't have to be spectacular, it should at least be competent.

    As I see it...
Pros. Convenience, convenience and more convenience. You can park in the lot right outside the entrance albeit at a premium price of $40. So you're right there then after dinner it's only a minute or two to get to your seats or in my case the company suite. Lower level, center ice...yeah, I'm bragging about that a bit.

But at what price convenience? Everything is pretty much twice the price. Salads are $15-$16 and so forth. I would want/expect above average food and service at that pricepoint. Like I said, reviews are not encouraging in this regard. I've made backup reservations at Chez Joel in case no one can say anything good here.

    Any feedback would be helpful.

One thought...The restaurant is only open for events during the offseason and I wonder if that is an issue. How do you maintain a consistent level of service from both the kitchen and FOH if you're only operating a few days per month? And then consider that all the bad reviews were from people who went when the teams were playing and they would've been open almost daily.

    Thanks

I am sorry. I do not do well at snark. But honestly, all the food purveyors at sports arenas in Chicago are licking their chops that they were chosen to present semi-passible food “entrees” to an entrapped audience which was not there for the food. They will rake it in for as long as their contract runs.
Is it good? Is it bad?
It does not matter. They're not getting ousted. They never will, unless the management of the arena changes hands, at which point that corporation decides to turn over the food service to whomever has invested in it. At which, go back to the 3rd sentence in this reply.
Eat somewhere else before or afterward. :?
