Chinese New Year

I have been lurking here for a long time and finally have a question for all of you. I discovered this site after reading a post by Mike G on a Playa del Carmen board.


Now my question. My wife and I are having dinner with another couple on January 28th and I was wondering if any of the restaurants in Chinatown will have anything special that night for Chinese New Year which starts on the 29th.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of any particular plans at Chinatown restaurants, but I imagine most of them will have dumplings, noodles, whole fish and other New Year's specialties.
