The Epicurean Hungarian Restaurant is in the old Leona's on at 4431 W. Roosevelt in Hillside.....just west of Wolf Road. The menu is the same. Tamasz and his wife looked for over a year for a larger suburban location. The phone is 708 449 -1000. Hope to try it this weekend. The website is under construction at TheHungarianRestaurant.com

Awesome! It's about time Chicago got a second Hungarian restaurant. I take it that it's open? I will definitely check it out this week.

I work in Oakbrook, very near this new place. If anyone is interested in doing a group weekday lunch there, I'm game, assuming they're open for lunch!

    HI,

When you go, could you please find out who the chef is? Is it Chef Bela from Paprikash? If it is, then could you ask him which Kennessey's he worked at: Belmont and/or Hinsdale?

    This is really great news.

    Regards,

I'm thrilled to hear this and might venture out there on the weekend!

A friend had planned a get together at that particular Leona's and I had recently found the resturant had gone out and it was switched to the Oak Park location (Which was just a terrible dining experience) and I had asked them what was going in at that location if anything.

Oddly enough the Leona's hostess told us they were remodeling that location! I'm happy to hear of a new resturant and hope to get out there this week!

    Frank,

I take it these are the hours of operation for The Epicurean Hungarian Restaurant.

    Enjoy,

Unfortunately, the hours don't allow for lunch during the week. I also work in Oak Brook and would be more than happy to meet up for an early dinner after work.

An acquaintance of mine was hired to work as a waiter in this restaurant, he said it was going to be a very "high quality" place. But when the opening was pushed back, and pushed back again and other organizational "problems" (his words, not mine) continued, he went to work someplace else. I'd give the place some breathing room before visiting - time to let them solve any "issues."

    Vital Information, Flip, Others,

I guess it will have to be dinner. Should we try it out soon or wait a few weeks for them to work out any kinks? I was thinking of a 6pm weekday dinner. I could do weekends, too. Thoughts?
