Where is the best place to get a good portion of fresh lox along with a great bagel and cream cheese?

    TIA.

Go to Kaufman's and get your lox and cream cheese, then go to New York Bagel and get your bagel.

A good suggestion, but if you want it in one stop, I think your best option is Ashkenaz. Get the lox hand-sliced.

    Ashkenaz Deli
    12 E Cedar St

There are a ton of options out there that are all of the same (lower) tier that I'm sure will get recommended in this thread: The Bagel, What's Cooking, Max & Benny's, Barnum & Bagel. Personally, I don't think any of these are standouts--all fine, but nothing special.

    Best,
    Michael

    HI,

There was a comparative tasting of bagels last year, which may be of interest.

Cafe Deluca on Damen has a surprisingly good lox platter with real bagels(i.e boiled) and high quality fish+yummy capers

Tweet I think gets the award for most lavishly presented platter, the fish is not top shelf but more than adequate, and the bagels are faux, but eye appeal is definitely more than half the meal in this case. One platter is certainly enough for two, just order extra mini bagels. I wish I had pictures!!!
