Has anyone been to Yes Thai on Damen, at Foster?
It's been my favorite Thai place (mostly cause it's close). But I was there tonight and it has changed. It might just be a different cook this particular night. It wasn't worse, just different.
Has anybody who goes there noticed a difference recently?

My wife and I live only a few blocks from Yes Thai and it is one of our favorites. We also have noted, but always have, not just recently, that the food seems to vary a lot, particularly in the spiciness area. Again, always good, but different. We figure they have different chefs on different nights.

My wife says I like to go there for the revolving cast of insanely cute Thai waitresses, but I say it's the food. Over and over I say that....

Our only knock on Yes Thai is the loud pop music they play on occasion. In Thai.

    Yeah!
We had that crazy pop music last time we ate there. It's so incongruous.
It makes me worry about the parts of American culture that are being exported.
And regarding the waitresses...they are easy on the eyes if not the marriage.

Mr. foodie and I finally ate here for an early light dinner. We've decided to check Yes Thai out since our fave thai place (Muang Thai) that was a few blocks south on Damen has been replaced with another restaurant. :(

Yes Thai was typical to us - nothing to write home about. We thought the place had very nice menus but the substance really wasn't there.

As for the place itself, I liked the way it was tastely decorated for such a small place but the music just was a little to clubby for me and the place.

We haven't had the take out but my guess the food would be better enjoyed at home without the club feel.
