    Thanks for posting the link; it's the first time I've read the process described in such detail. Don't you wish you were there for the taping?

    I applied to be on "Check, Please!" once, in its second season. The application process at that time was significantly simpler than that described by the SF poster. Mine was all online at the WTTW site, and included only three simple essay questions. When they first called me, the interviewer quoted from my essay (the more humorous and controversial statements, as I recall). After two phone interviews, I was apparently disqualified. I'm not sure if I should have mentioned that I was due to give birth in a few weeks...that probably assured by rejection. However, they did call me to review a specific restaurant - it was either Tiffin or Hai Yen - because a few others had recommended the same two places in their list of 5 current favs.

    The experience was fun for someone who loves to discuss food, restaurants and local hidden gems. I still love the show even though I never got my chance at local culinary fame!
