I am looking for a great place to go for my birthday that we haven't tried before, and I was thinking about RL--other options might be Roy's or Les Nomades. I want a fun atmosphere with great food--loved loved loved Tru but was not so in to MK. Any suggestions would be wonderful!

I wouldnt call RL, "Fun", but it definetly is classy, clubby and delicious. The quality is very high American and their salads and sandwiches are great for lunch. Ends up being pricey but its enjoyable and the ambience is wonderful.

I like RL, although I haven't been for dinner. The food and service have always been good and I find the space enchanting. I enjoy the dining room as well as eating by the fire in the bar.

I have tried a number of creme brulles in Chicago, and I thought the one served at RL was the best I've ever tasted, served with a ripe assortment of berries on top and the crust was done perfectly.

If you are looking for fun, try Moto. The presentation is entertaining (including the edible menu), the service is great, and the food overall is very well done.
