Wally's Gyros - Any opinions?

I've had a hankering for a good gyro in my area and was wondering if anyone has ever been to Wally's Gyros in Park Ridge. I always pass it on the corner of Northwest Hwy and Oakton but have never stopped in. Seems to be a decent crowd there whenever I drive by, but surprisingly, I cannot find any reviews on here.

Is Wally's any good for gyros?

Wally's has been there for years, and its been years since I've been. I have some friends in the car biz a bit south of there( car guys always know where to eat ) who swear by Wally's gyros as well as the chicaken Caesar salad.

I've always been a big fan of Wally's -- good gyros and good thin, crisp fries. I go there for lunch periodically. Just note that the gyros sandwich is the way to go as the platter is just way too much food.

I sometimes stop at \/\/ally's on the way back from O'hare. The menu is your typical Ameri-Greek fastfood. It seems a little bit pricey for that kind of stuff, but they do a great job. The gyros are very tasty, and the sandwich portion is generous. I don't know what brand and grade of gyros they use, but it seems to be the good stuff. The pita bread is the puffy kind, and has always been very fresh. They grill the bread which gives it that slight crunchiness. Plus, they put lots of onions on everything, which for me is a big positive. Anyhow, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but if it is time to eat and you are in the area, you could certainly do a lot worse.
