I bought a few of these in a grocery store in Manila a few weeks ago. Apparently there is a demand for cute bunny and bear shaped hard boiled eggs! Can anyone translate the instructions on the package? Hard or soft boiled eggs? Submerge mold in hot or cold water, and for how long? I'm intrigued. I have higher res pictures if the posted ones are too small.

    thanks!

The instructions in the second photo are cut off at the right edge. The shaded box with the green header has "tips" for optimal results. If you have a full photo of those two sections, I could provide more detail.

Here's what I can piece together:

    1. Peel hard-boiled egg while hot, place in mold and close lid slowly.

    2. Place mold in a bowl of cold water and wait.

    3. Open lid, take out egg.

    Tips:
*The hotter the egg, the better the results.
*Cool mold in water at least 10 minutes.
*Center the yolk in the middle of the mold.
*Trim any egg white that comes out of the mold.

    Hope this helps,
    Mumon

    Useless comment, I know, but...

You gotta love the power of LTHForum!

An under 2-hour, Japanese-English translation of hard-boiled egg forms! Excellent!

    Mumon,

Thank you so much for the translation! LTH comes through again.

Long time lurker and first time poster here. I tried the search feature and did not find the answer to my question, so my apologies if this has been covered before and I missed it. Does anyone know of a local source for egg molds such as the one pictured above in this thread? Toguri Mercantile on Belmont told me they do not carry egg molds. I am aware of several sources on ebay, but I would prefer to buy in person. Thank you.
