We are staying at the Sheraton in mid april and are looking for breakfast and lunch suggestions. We are first timers and have no idea how to get around so simple is better. We have never even been to a big city before and are a little intimidated.

Here's an old thread on "Breakfast near Navy Pier" which has some suggestions:

Chicago is a very easy city to get around in. There's plenty to do within walking distance of the Sheraton and lots more only a short cab ride away, even if you don't feel adventurous enough on this trip to try the CTA. Why don't you tell us a little more about what you're looking for. Quiet? Romantic? Interesting? More or less expensive (feel free to give us a dollar range). Any particular ethnic food you'd like to try?

Where are you going to be between breakfast and lunch? Shopping the mag mile? Strolling Millenium Park? In meetings at the hotel? Any more info will help us help you.

My wife and I are going to celebrate our 20th aniversary, and not really knowing what to expect, we havent made set plans. We did make reservations at Gibsons because we heard the food was good and you could possibly see celebrities, but those are the only set plans we have.We would just like to experience things we cant expierience in Beavercreek,Oh.

Try www.yelp.com - input your zip code for the hotel and search. It links excellently to Google maps with each restaurant or place you look up, and you can get directions to-and-from. Yelp's a new online review forum. When we stayed at the Sheraton when I came to visit for apt hunting, we ate at Baisi Thai - nice lunch buffet on Michigan Ave in one of the shopping highrises and India House - "fanciest" Indian buffet I'd ever had.
