So I offered to make Brats for a tailgate at Sox Opening Day today and Don't want to just go to Jewel. I googled "meat market 60640" (my zip) and came up with a couple hits that I'd never heard of.

    Muller Meats
2439 W Peterson Ave, Chicago, IL
    (773) 561-7580

    Kikos Meat Market
5077 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL
    (773) 271-7006

I called Muller and they said they have Brats. Has anyone been there? What about Kikos? I know I could probably get some at Meyer Deli for $6/lb. but I wanna save a bit and try somewhere new.

Or does someone know another northside market (I know about Paulina) with good homemade fresh sausages?

Muller Meats has been there a very long time and is owned by the Cuban Father-in-Law of Dirk, from Dirk's Fish Market. It's a solid neighborhood place. Never had the brats, though.

Went there today. Very friendly guy sold me some Fresh brats and 4 stuffed chicken breasts and gave me a magnetic calendar. They have Choice meats and other good stuff. Quite a pleasant experience. The guy (Irv?) said he was from Poland though I thought.
