Hot dogs in Hyde Park?

My daughter's of the age where she's starting to crave hot dogs (mmm...). Today we're taking a trip down to Hyde Park, but it just occurred to me that, to the best of my memory, there's no hot dog place anywhere near the U of C campus. Can this be right, or am I forgetting something?

I've never had Morry's hot dog, but if the rest of their offerings are any indication; I might go the extra 6 blocks to Sammy's Touch. Located on the corner of 57th Street and Cottage Grove, Sammy's serves many delicious things - both the grilled and fried chicken sandwiches are personal favorites. The gyro is a fine representation and they have both hot dogs and polishes on offer. In fact, I think there is a Vienna footlong available for consumption as well. One caveat: I have not been to Sammy's since January, and when I was there, I did not have a hot dog.

During my first year at U. of C., while I lived a couple blocks from Morry's, I would often start my day with an "Egg McMorry."

I remember waiting with anticipation as the counterperson would microwave the pastrami for my sandwich.

Sometimes I look back at the younger me and I just shake my head.
