    Hello, all wise ones.

Does anyone know whether there is a festival this Thursday or weekend at Wat Dhammaram (7059 W. 75th St.)?

And does this festival involve tasty treats, including the infamous banana roti?

(It's basically a really thin paratha which is cooked on a hot griddle with some banana and egg inside, then covered with a little bit of condensed milk and sugar. In Chiang Mai on Chaiyapoom Road, it was $.50.)

It's the best kind of street food, in that it's a bastardization of several different cuisines (Thai/Indian/Malay, perhaps) and only good eaten right off the griddle. I tried to make it, using instructions off the interweb, but ended up with greasy flour rocks. (proper technique: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kazzielah/22098022/)

Anyways, please let me know if you have any info.

    *Hugs*

ps: because if there are roti at Wat Dhammaram, I will have to tell my parents I'm *cough* too sick *cough* to go to Indianapolis for Easter.
    eat, drink, repeat.
