    Hi,
I am going to have dinner tonight at le Bouchon, and then am looking for a place to smoke a good cigar and sip some good scotch or cognac, etc.
Wondering who knows of some nice places for that in the area of Buck Town, or Damen and Armitage area, or other thoughts.
    thanks,

Well, the Matchbox has a pretty good selection of cigars, as well as scotch (and likely cognac, too, but I wouldn't know for sure) but isn't the most elegant place to hang out...but it might not be too packed on a Wednesday night, and they certainly don't discourage cigar smoking.

(The Matchbox is on the corner of Milwaukee and Ogden.)

If you trek south a few blocks, there are a pair of cigar stores near the Damen/Milwaukee/North intersection. There's also that new RJ Reynolds tobacco lounge a bit further down on milwaukee, which might be your best bet.

I'm pretty sure you can only smoke cigarettes in Marshall McGearty's. I was there, and one of the staff intervened when some guys tried to light pipes. I'm pretty sure I heard her say that the place was cigarette only.

There's a tobacconist on Damen a few blocks south of Le Bouchon, but I don't care for it, and they've been rude to me. Casa Del Tobacco on North (right next to Santulo's) is a very nice shop with a courteous staff and a good selection.

Not sure which bars around there are cigar-friendly with a decent scotch selection. The California Clipper at Augusta and California has a decent selection, and they have no problem with stogies.

Also, ask the owner, or if Randy is at the bar ask him.

I would usually pick up some cigars from Up Town Tabacco and go over to Clark Ale House. You will not be disappointed on whiskey selection at the bar.
