What restaurant is this? Winnetka

I am looking thru some restaurants for sale listings and came across one in Winnetka. Is is a confidential listing so it doesn't give a name or location. Just this discription:

120 seat fine dining restaurant in busy downtown Winnetka. Private outdoor patio seats 40 more. Currently open and doing record business. This location has always supported fine dining concepts such as French, Steaks and Seafood and American White table cloth.

If anyone would know what the name of this place is, it would be here. Any one have a guess?

Just a guess.

Could it be La Bella Winnetka? Former Indian Trail-- but I don't think anyone considered that fine dining. The size sounds right.

Patrick and James?? Not even sure if Patrick and James was in Winnetka.

I would have thought Bella Winnetka, too, except their outdoor seating in that tent takes many more than 40. Patrick and James is more properly in Hubbard Woods, so that would leave the former Tanglewood spot, I guess, though I didn't know they had outdoor seating. It's inside that mall, which makes it virtually invisible, probably why it's always changing hands.

I don't think Fio (formerly Tanglewood, formerly La Boheme, where the chef was Didier Durand, who currently owns Cyrano's in River North) changed hands when it became Harbour House - I think Marty Rojak just "re-concepted" it. But it does sound like a good guess. As noted, the location is relatively invisible, but its reincarnation as Harbour House was fairly recent. I was just there for Easter brunch.

My other guess would be O'Neil's; I believe the owners there were also involved with Patrick and James (which I'm fairly sure was in Glencoe, not Winnetka).

Speaking of O'Neil's, I heard he had more restaurants. Can you enlighten me of them. I heard he had a pretty good BBQ place.??

Ever since I worked at my uncles place in Winnetka, M&H Grill formerly Toddle House, I hold a special place in my heart for that area.

Would love to open up a place in that area, so I periodically look to see what's available. Best bet is to open up in the new strip center that will go up once the old restaurant is demolished.

Hi - Patrick O'Neil was an owner of Patrick & James and it was in Glencoe. He is still an owner of O'Neil's. A few years after the closing of Patick & James, he opened up the "bbq" place. It's "Little Ricky's Rib Joint." I haven't been there in ages, but it certainly seemed to be popular with the locals the few times I dined there.

Damn, Gus! You're part of the M&H family?! That place was legendary. I totally loved it. I'd been going there since 1973 (first date ever) and I really miss it. Up until when it closed, we used to hit it for lunch on a regular basis. I miss being asked "something to drink for you?"

As Gleam suggested, I do think that the listing in question is the Harbour House/Fio space.

And IIRC, Patrick and James was in downtown Glencoe, on Park Avenue just west of Vernon.

Been to Little Ricky's several times. It doesn't really rock my world but it's a quality joint.

I miss it to. I used to work in the summer while I was in college then only Sat when I got a real job.

Before I bought my place in Evanston, my Aunt and I tried to re-open the old Stand but the Village already rezoned it. Making reopening it very difficult. It would of been fun.

The person that bought the property also bought the property that has Bori's Cafe. The plan is to demolish both and build a strip center. So that will be gone soon as well.

My kids (and others as well) called M&H "Vienna Beef" because of the sign in the window. They never knew the real name. It was so nice having this run down shack in the middle of Winnetka. I'm not surprised, however, that they'd zone it out of existence.
