In honor of our 2nd anniversary, each day for a week I'm going to post a link to a memorable thread from LTHForum's first year. The criterion is, it must be a thread which took place entirely during our first year, so it hasn't been bumped back up to the top since May 27 of '05. (I haven't picked all of these yet, so if anyone wants to nominate something, feel free to PM me.)

We reach into the hat and, today's is one of those typically improbable help-me-decide queries involving two options which would never occur to 99.99999% of humanity but seem perfectly logical on LTHForum. From September 7, 2004...

Today's shows how the hive mind of LTHForum swarms over a subject and produces information on every aspect of that subject; the subject, from November 2, 2004, is...

Today's golden oldie was sent in by Eatchicago-- a thread where a few LTHers attempted to answer why they reached the point of, as a recent thread put it, Really Taking All This Food So Seriously. So here's a long distance dedication from Eatchicago to Cookie in Boca Raton...

    Introduce yourself, neighbor!

(If anyone wants to add to this one, go right ahead. Alas, the picture of my brown polyester McDonald's uniform seems to be no more.)

Today's, from November 9, 2004, has a perfectly good descriptive title, but I prefer to link to it by one of the more memorable lines in a thread with many candidates...

You don't know how I struggle for them to pack the head in my take-out order.

Today's, which took place entirely on March 10, 2005, and was sent in by Cathy2, who wants you to know how many different answers LTHers can provide for a question like, Where do I go to enjoy...

Today's is a thread started by Mr. David Hammond, but full of interesting perspectives from many folks, from May 13, 2005. He had dinner with alien, and now Hammond tells us how:

And the final entry in my weeklong coast-to-coast trip down boulevard du temps perdu is a thread that gets at the very heart of LTHForum by encouraging folks to name their personal delights at a very low price point. It got 49 responses, most of them containing multiple suggestions, enough to keep you dining happily for months. From January 25, 2005:

Thanks for the week of classics, Mike. It was definitely a cool idea and I really enjoyed reading some of the threads that might have otherwise faded into LTHForum history.

    Best,
    Michael
