I have an important anniversary next week and will be in SW Michigan (New Buffalo/Three Oaks area). What would be the best restaurant in the area that is recommended? Thanks

Fine dining choices are pretty lean, Timothy's in Union Pier is probably your best bet for a celebratory dinner. I've got a birthday coming up in a couple weeks and I think I'll give the Tabor Hill Winery restaurant another shot, it's been a few years since I've eaten there (wasn't that impressive last time). I'll put up a report on it afterwards. Can't beat the scenery up there, hope the food has caught up.

Here'a a review of Mesa Luna in Three Oaks, MI. I took my wife there last year.

There are many good restaurants in the area. I haven't had dinner there yet, just drinks and an appetizer, but I found the The Boulevard Inn in downtown St. Joseph, MI to be a place I want to go. I was going to take Mary there this year for our anniversary, but when I drove by last week the street in front was torn up for construction. I did not go in, but I'm sure the view of the lake would have been ruined.
