    I love Dole Whip. My first experiences are the probably the same as many others, at one of the Disney parks. However, I was overjoyed that the Chocolate Mousse ice cream shop in Bloomington, Indiana fed my love during my IU education.

    Please, please, please...Is there any place closer than Bloomington, Indiana for me to get my hands on this?

    Okay...I have no idea what Dole Whip is but I sure do remember The Chocolate Mousse! I lived in a house on the street behind the Chocolate Mousse (directly behind a very bad Taco Franchise whose name was Taco John's I think) and I would regularly do the clean the furniture for spare change thing and run over to the Chocolate Mousse in the summer for some very tasty soft serve ice cream.

    My friend Ruth and I tried to start a campaign in which we could get them to give us soft serve on a sugar cone but they wouldn't. They claimed that if they did that and the ice cream fell of the much smaller sugar cone that they'd then have to give us another cone. Which they didn't like.

    <sigh>

    I miss the Chocolate Mousse. I may have to head over to the Dairy Queen on Southport today to get myself some soft serve. Any other suggestions on soft serve????

    While trying to find out what the heck a "Dole Whip" is, I ran across this recipe for making them.

    Dole Whip rocks!! Every time we go to Hawaii, I hit a Dole Whip stand. Pineapple, of course, being the preferred flavor.

    Would love it if someone in the area served it.

    Here is a link to a company in Hawaii that sells the Dole Whip powder for softserve machines. It looks a heck of a lot more appetizing after it is frozen and served.

    Now all you need is a softserve machine. Actually, they have directions for making it in a home ice cream maker.

    The same company also sells the mix on Ebay. One bag ($21.95 + 9.35 shipping) makes 48 servings.

    They used to have Dole Whip at Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells. Not sure if they still do. It was fabulous after a hot day watersliding!

    I've also had it in Hawaii but I don't think I've ever seen it anywhere in Chicago.

    I saw it about two years ago in Traverse City, MI, but I don't think that will be any more useful than Bloomington!
