Looking for recommendation of a caterer (preferably on the north side) to cater my open house. I'm looking for someone to provide finger food appetizers. Nothing super fancy but something that's not as simple as sandwiches from from jewel/dominicks deli counter either.

    THANKS!

Anderson's has received positive reviews by one LTHer who seemed pleased with their generosity as well as their fare. Having returned myself, I also endorse them as far as the food is concerned, though I've not experienced their catering.

We provide custom in-home catering in the city and suburbs. We're located in Pilsen, so not on the north side, but we can deliver. Give me a call and we could discuss some menu options.

Melissa Graham operates Monogramme events at http://www.monogrammeevents.com/.

She's an excellent chef, and although I've never hired her company, I have eaten her food many times.

Sergio Sanchez of "Twisted Lizard" does a great job at "off site" food service.
He even did my brothers wedding some years ago.

I haven't used them personally, but I have heard good things about Catering by Michael's, which won a Banchet Award a couple of years ago.

I second the motion on Michael's (we have used them several times, and love their stuff).

Another fantastic option is Limelight Catering on Racine....used them for two dinner parties.....absolutely top-drawer. 773/883-3080

J & L catering did my wedding in May. I requested locally sourced, seasonal, and sustainably produced foods to the greatest extent possible. They rose to the challenge and we had a wonderful meal.

I use Debbie Sharp at Feast on a regular basis! The food is very good, she's very accomodating, and can provide staff at a VERY resonable price to keep everything looking fresh.

A while back I had Rique's Restaurant cater a party for us for approx. 40 people. Everyone raved at how good everything was. It was just finger food/noshy/appetizer items.
They used to have a website with a menu, but it doesn't seem to be working...

We used Food For Thought in Lincolnwood for my Mom's funeral luncheon. The food was excellent.

I was recently at an event catered by Beyond Events. The food was incredible. Delicious jalapeno deviled eggs and chipotle-raspberry grilled shrimp. I've checked out their website, but the links aren't linking.
