    Searched the forum and no topic on Freddy's?
    Calabria's at 103rd & Longwood is my choice. Any other recomendations?

    If you mean Freddy's in Cicero, it is on 61st and 16th.

    sorry I should have been more specific.
    A freddy sandwich, large sausage patty on french bread, folded over with red sauce, peppers and mozzarella cheese.

    Thanks for clearing that up. I am not familiar with the "freddy" sandwich, and I'm guessing that quite a few other people here are not either.

    Besides Calabria's, where else do you find this sandwich? Do you know where it got it's name and/or where it originated?

    Almost any pizza place on the southside sells them, Barracos, Rosangela's, Beggar's. I don't know how the name came about though. Heaven on bun though I tell you!

    Hmm.... little known sandwich from the South Side... Sounds like another Rene G research project.

    It's definitely on the Barraco's menu, just as NSH described.

    Yes, but not on Rosangela's or Beggar's. They both serve a plain Italian sausage link sandwich, not a Freddy.
