Sparky just had a tonsillectomy, and the resultant diet got me to thinking about the recent proliferation of ethnic blender drinks.
For instance, who can forget their first Mango Lassi? We had ours at Tiffin, part of a truly satisfying meal with dazzling Orient-Express style service (each one of our party of four had their own waiter, who removed the covers from our plates with a simaltaneous flourish - which sadly, never happened again) And then, at
Sabor a Cafe, a Columbian restaurant, we had a "morado," a thin, blackberry-flavored milkshake; delicious. During the Chinese New Year Parade, we went to the only available restaurant; Penang, which was predominately Malaysian and had the best Bubble Teas I've ever had - I don't think they had any milk at all, and you could see the fruit going into the blender.
So, what part of the world do you go to for something blended?
