The sushi was fresh and semi cheap. It was BYOB. A very small restaurant. Let me say that again, a very small restaurant. Two tables that seat two in back, one table that seats 4 in front along with three tables that seat 2 and the sushi bar that seats 6. You will wait for a place to eat and I was there close to 9:00 pm. Well worth the wait though. Very much a neighborhood place in Lincoln Park so parking sucked. The server bowed to me when I left and the three sushi chefs said good-bye!

I have been to Green Tea on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The really small restaurant is really cozy I would say. You can see the sushi bar from anywhere you sit. The service is good and the chefs are really knowledgeable. The fish is also really fresh. But, if you go on a weekend evening, be prepared to wait. They don’t take reservations either.

Yes, the wait can be crazy long but the quality of the fish is decent and the price is low. My girlfriend loves the charashi - highly recommended. The place seems to do a tremendous amount of take out.

Timely enough, I finally went here for the first time last weekend. I live in the neighborhood and knew the place was small, but the additional commentary about that here prompted me to heed the good advice and avoid the crowds. So, I went to try out the lunch specials. $20 later before tip, my husband and I enjoyed a light, but very well prepared lunch with kind service. My most telling moment was when I said to hubby, "I could eat this every Saturday." Definitely a nice option to have nearby. It's near the zoo and Green City Market, so would be a nice jaunt with those excursions.
