I'd love for you to expand on this a bit. What were the elements that you found present in Asiana (where I had never been) that you did not find present in, say, Tank Noodle?

I've never had a realy bad meal in the Argyle St. area, but other than stopping for pho, which you can do pretty much anywhere, I most often head for Hai Yen -- was just there last night, in fact. But all the meals I've had in the area are as good as my better meals in Vietnam. So whether these places meet one's hopes, there is no doubt they are serving authentic food.

I agree with this assessment of Asiana, which makes it hard to recommend a spot to the OP. I've heard bad things about My Green Kitchen and Annam Cafe was pretty unremarkable--maybe you'd like those
