dinner recommendation...

Mother daughter "special occasion" dinner next week...suggestions would be great! Love seafood; leaning towards new American; not looking to spend copious amounts of money (i.e. Alinea, Avenues, etc.) considering May Street Market? Anyone dined there recently? What about any of the other restaurants listed in Chicago Magazine's May issue of best new restaurants? Thanks!

Have you been to Scylla or Spring? I would highly recommend both, although I slightly prefer Scylla. Both are seafood heavy and offer what I would consider to be more interesting seafood offerings than Shaw's for instance. Scylla leans Mediterranean whereas Spring leans Asian.
