I had high hopes for Connie's, open only a few months. Their specialty is the Chunky Burger, very close in style to nearby
That's-A-Burger—a griddle cooked, hand formed half pounder served with fresh cut, skin on fries.
Unfortunately the burger wasn't so great, cooked past the point of dryness and not very flavorful. Like That's-A-Burger, Connie's also offers turkey burgers but they suffered the same fate as the beef. Fries were a reasonable effort but somewhat soggy (not helped by their foil wrapping). You can do a lot worse for $3.50 ($3.25 for turkey) but, sad to say, I wouldn't consider Connie's a special destination.
