Is this the first post on this place?

They opened up earlier this week and I tried it 2 nights ago. The room is huge and doesn't have any special ambiance, but it's ok. The menu is fairly large and ambitious with enough items that sounded good enough to make me want to come back a few more times.

    The food:
We started with fish ceviche, which had far more shrimp than fish. I was disappointed by this, as I really enjoy just fish if that's what it's described as on the menu. It was very good, though. They have corn tortillas hecho a mano which are a huge plus for me. I had chorizo and cheese chilles rellenos, which we not as tasty as Nuevo Leon's, or my favorite La Oxacaena (sp?). The filling had a little more veggies than I would have liked, but you get 2 of them and it was quite filling. My wife had enchilads in guajillo mole. I could tell they actually used dried chilles to make the mole and the enchiladas were a little like empanads in the way they were shaped, they were also made with the homemade corn tortillas.

Although I wasn't as impressed with my chilles rellenos as I would have liked, I'll go back. In fact, I'd say I already prefer this place to other gringo oriented mexican in the neighborhood, particularly Rique's, Dorado, and La Fonda (I know this is more latin with some mexican). That makes me think I should also mention Ole Ole on Clark, which I also like. I've been impressed with their empanadas and fish ceviche.

They had wood grilled steak tacos which should be great with their tortillas. Also have a gimmicky guacamole cart that they bring to our table to make it while you watch so you can feel awkward while your food is prepared for you.

I'd love to hear anyone elses impressions.
