My husband and I went to Greek Islands in Lombard tonight and something was different. In 2005, I think we had been there more than 10 times...DAve really enjoys it there. Consequently many of the waiters knew him, would stop by the table and talk, etc.

Tonight was blah. The skordalia was tasteless, the seafood soup seemed different. The service was, as always, spectacular, as was the broiled spring chicken. But here is my question: anyone know why things were off? New owners? Any speculation?

We were there Saturday evening. The service was lovely, but...my lamb was not as tender as usual, although my husband's was very tender. The taramosalata was not as good, and neither was the avgolemono soup. It'd been a couple of years since we'd eaten there, so I was a bit disappointed in the food. But I was thinking it was just an off night?
