Sadly enough, I'm looking for you all to help update me on LaGrange, an area that is pretty much in my childhood backyard (Western Springs). Hubby and I now work in the general area and sometimes need a place to get some decent dinner in efforts to avoid crazy traffic.

I'd like to keep this post 100% LaGrange. Yes, I know about Vie in Western Springs and how I'm missing out, since I haven't been. I have a decent handle on Oak Brook, too.

Starting off this LaGrange thread, I've enjoyed:

    Grapevine (Mediterranean cafe)
    Yau's Place (Thai)
    Marconi's (Italian)
Emilio's Sunflower Cafe (higher end contemporary)

I'm open to any type of food at any price. There are a number of places which I have not tried, as they popped up after my residence there. And there are definitely places that I wouldn't bother posting about here. I'm just trying to figure out where to adventure to next.

We live nearby in Willow Springs and La Grange is the closest place with a variety of good food.

    Our favorites include:
La Pinta for tapas (this has received good ratings from the Tribune and Sun Times as well)
Via Bella for Italian (when they are having a good night. We have had a couple bad meals there, but overall we enjoy it.)
Kilwin's- not a meal, but great ice cream.
Santiago's- Basic mexican at a good price, much better than Casa Margarita.

For Thai, there's Cida Thai next door to Main Street Liquors on 55th and LaGrange Road, or for more atmosphere and a little pricier, Thipi Thai at 50 s. LaGrange Road.
