    Anybody else going to miss the chocolate chip cookie dough egg roll? In my opinion, it was at its best 2003-2004, but I liked it up until closing.

    It's kind of old news, but I just found out and hadn't seen anything on this site.

    This is one place that I won't miss. Uninterested, abrasive service. Management that did not appear in charge. Mediocre food. Some places just dig their own grave, and this was one of them.

    About that eggroll -

    That is/was one of Chef Gil Langlois's signature desserts. I've had it in at least 3 of his restaurants, and it has always been at its best when he is with the kitchen preparing it rather than after he has moved on.

    Chicago mag mentioned that Gil will be opening "Chalkboard" soon - I think in the old Tournesol space - so maybe the chocolate chip cookie dough eggroll will make an appearance there, as well.

    I agree with you 100%. It was best under Chef Gil. I think he was at Sushisamba Rio for awhile after Rushmore...I wonder if he served it there? Can't wait to see if it makes it to the menu at his new place.
